BASE FUNDING 2019 - 2020!

zero visibility corp. was today 21.september awarded with 2 new more years of base funding from Arts Council Norway - for the period 2019 - 2020.

The base funding is of great importance for the company's artistic development and possibilities. Several projects and guest performances had not been possible without it. The company and Ina Christel Johannessen have been able to realize bigger projects, both in size of productions and touring.

The new period of base funding allows the company to continue our development for another 2 years!

We are very very happy about these news :D

FROZEN SONGS

PREMIERE 7.SEPTEMBER 2017 at Hålogaland Teater/The Arctic Theatre, Tromsø (NO)

Background:

In 2008, an old dream of the United Nations finally saw the light: on the island of Svalbard, one of the safest and most peaceful places in the world, a large warehouse was built 120 meters insidse a mountain. In the middle of the “permafrost”, a thick layer of soil that never melts, the Global Seed Vault was established. Since its opening eight years ago, 840.000 samples of seeds have been deposited in the Vault.

The seed is a source of life, the beginning of everything, and the Vault (also known as the “Doomsday Vault”) represents the need to protect it at all costs. As long as there are seeds, there is hope; everything that die, could blossom once again. These resting in the depth of a mountain close to the north pole, could one day save the world.

COMPOSER - Bram Bosteels / Kaboom Karavan

zvc has engaged composer Bram Bosteels /Kaboom Karavan for our upcoming production FUTURE. Kaboom Karavan is the working moniker of Belgian sound wizard/musician Bram Bosteels. Using a mixture of self built instruments, old acoustic string instruments and electronics he creates a universe reminding of a night time carnival, strange vaudeville, or folk forms from an imaginary land. Kaboom Karavan has made music for several theatre /dance and film productions in addition to the release of three well received albums (Hokus Pokus 2013), (BarraBarra 2011), (Short Walk with Olaf 2007).

Just recently the short movie  "Flor de mil colores" by Karen Vasques and Bart Goossens with Bram´s soundtrack has been elected for Sundance Film Festival 2016.

Congratulations!

ASSOCIATED ARTIST

zero visibility corp. and Dansens Hus Oslo has over the years developed a strong connection. This has recently led to zvc becoming an associated artist of the House of Dance.

As associated artist zvc and House of Dance will collaborate closely on the commissioned works and continue to build strong connections with our home audience, in addition to national and international audience and networks.

This kind of trust and collaboration is an important boost to the development and vision of zvc.

Background:

Ina Christel Johannessen is one of Norway’s most renowned dance artists – a pioneer.

With her company zero visibility corp. she thrills audiences worldwide. She is a choreographer who is as capable of charming audiences with her art as she is at making them squirm uncomfortably in their seats. Her choreographies, one hundred percent physical and full of both energy and poetry, explore opposites that are constantly changing.

On the move!

zvc adminstration will move production office to Nydans Oslo, from 1st March 2016.

Nydans Oslo offers brand new studio and office facilities for the Norwegian dance community.

It's an important step up for the independent dance community in Norway and a new homebase for zero visibility corp. shared with IBP and other Oslo based dance artists.

We are excited!
