Ole Willy Falkhaugen has made his mark on the Norwegian National Ballet's repertoire, dancing roles such as Rothbart in Swan Lake, Gremin in Cranko's Onegin, Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker, the title role in Nureyev's Don Quixote, Charlatan in Øyen's Petrushka, Monsieur G.M and the prison governor in MacMillans Manon, and Pastor Manders in Marit Moum Aune and Cina Espejord's Ibsen's Ghosts.
In the modern repertoire, he has danced leading parts in productions such as Forsythe's Limb's Theorem, Ek's Sleeping Beauty, Duato's Multiplicity – Forms of Silence and Emptiness, León & Lightfoot's Safe as Houses and Kylián's Heart's Labyrinth. His role in Johannessen's Scheherazade was created specifically for him, while the choreographers Bjørnsgaard, Støvind, Boyadjiev and Espejord have also created parts and roles for him. He has also danced in various works by choreographers such as Tetley, Balanchine, Grand-Maitre, Strømgren and Alveberg.
Falkhaugen began studying ballet in his home town of Sandefjord, continuing at the Norwegian National Ballet School and the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm. He joined the Norwegian National Ballet as an apprentice in 1997, and became a full member of NNB 1998.
